Bali Travel and Tour

Mount Batur is one of the best spots to view the sunrise. Located northwest of Mount Agung (3,142 meters above sea level), it boasts a massive caldera measuring 13.8 kilometers by 10 kilometers. In 1949, Dutch tourist Mister Van Bemmelen described Mount Batur as one of the largest calderas in the world.

Mount Batur Kintamani boasts a high caldera ridge, ranging from 1,267 meters to 2,152 meters above sea level. The summit of this caldera is known as Mount Abang. If you’re looking for a slightly more challenging hike than Mount Batur, Mount Abang is the perfect choice.

Furthermore, within Mount Batur’s main caldera, a second caldera formed. This second caldera is circular and measures up to seven kilometers in diameter. Within this second caldera, you can see a crescent-shaped lake. This lake occupies the southeastern part, is approximately 7.5 km long and has a maximum width of about 2.5 km. Better known as Lake Batur, it has a circumference of about 22 kilometers and an area of about 16 square kilometers.
